Azeem Khan has always admired his maternal side of the family’s real estate finesse and his paternal side’s work ethic. When he was 17, Azeem put a sticker on his brother Raheem’s desktop computer that said, “Khan Brothers Real Estate.”
Today, The Khan Group LLC is three real estate companies in one, specializing in real estate brokerage, property management and development in Chicagoland. “Real estate was always a passion of mine,” Raheem says. “I always knew when I was younger, I would join Azeem in the business.”
It has been an exciting year for The Khan Group. Raheem set a record
for the sale of a one-bedroom unit in the prestigious Aqua building and
Azeem sold a high-end, new construction home in a neighborhood with an
overabundance of new construction properties for sale. Also, the company
took on a new partner this past year when Realtor Chris Gabriel joined
the team. As a Military on the Move certified specialist in
lending and real estate marketing, Gabriel was particularly proud to have helped a veteran and his family find their forever home. “It was an amazing feeling to serve him and thank him for all the things he has done for our country,” Gabriel says.
Starting out, all three had very different careers. Raheem worked in wealth management and private equity, Azeem did ergonomic sales, and Gabriel was an athletic trainer. Now Raheem assists luxury buyers, sellers and investors, and Azeem serves high-end homebuyers and is a developer with AK Custom Homes, a company he started 10 years ago. AK Custom Homes is well established in Lincoln Park and Lakeview, and the majority of the company’s properties are priced between $2 million and $4 million. Oftentimes, clients hire Azeem to resell the homes he developed because he understands them so well.
Raheem was named a 2011 Rookie of the Year by the Chicago Association of Realtors and earned its Good Neighbor Award from 2011 through 2015. Azeem has also earned the Good Neighbor award several times for new construction developments, in addition to attaining the association’s Top Producer status. All three volunteer with local nonprofit organizations and pursue various athletic interests in their free time.
